LEAFll project, 3rd National Project Steering Committee (NPSC) meeting
The Ministry of Water and Environment through the Multinational Lakes Edward and Albert Integrated Fisheries and Water Resources Management (LEAFll) project held its 3rd National Project Steering Committee (NPSC) meeting to discuss the status of the project implementation and work plan. The Steering Committee meeting was opened by Ms. Florence Grace Adongo, the Director of Water Resources Management. There was also a field trip to inspect the works that have been done in Kamwenge district at Mahyoro landing site. This was to appreciate the work progress and handover one patrol boat at Mahyoro landing site. The Ministry Officials also inspected the various communities and appreciated the skills the project has imparted with them to create alternative livelihood programmes. The communities are producing soap, disinfectants, chalk and shampoos which they sell to schools and communities.
