Bukasakya P.S. Solar Powered Mini Piped Water System
Commissioning Bukasakya Primary School Solar Powered Mini Piped Water System in Bungokho Subcounty in Mbale District
The government of Uganda with bilateral support from the Egyptian government recently completed the construction of Bukasakya primary school solar powered mini piped water system in Bungokho sub county in Mbale District. Today the Minister of Water and Environment Hon.Sam Cheptoris, the Egyptian Minister of water resources and irrigation Mohammed Abdel Aaty and the Egyptian Ambassador to Uganda Mai Taha Mohammed commissioned the system. During his remarks, Hon Cheptoris informed those present that MWE officials are working to ensure access to safe and clean water for all and urged those who have not yet received water in their villages to be patient. The Egyptian minister commended the team for the job well done and communicated that Egypt will continue to support Uganda in the strive to provide access to safe and clean water for all. The USD 100,000 system was upgraded from a hand pump to a solar powered mini supply system. It will serve 3 villages, 500households, 1 church and 1 school in Nabugongo village, bukisukye lower and bukisukye upper.
